Capaia Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Maturation for this wine took place in 225L barrels from French Taransaud Coopers for 18 months before being bottled in November 2012.
This wine has considerable depth of colour. A dark core graduating to a youthful ruby colour.
With 80% of the blend comprising Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, a marriage of well integrated tannins and intense fruity black cherry, strawberry and cassis aroma is formed, which is classic for a Bordeaux blend.
This wine attacks the mouth deep and powerful, culminating in a sophisticated finish that lingers.
Although this wine is delicious to drink now, it will continue to age and develop admirably for 8 – 10 years from harvest.
